Etude House & Rose Flowering Eyes Palette

Hey guys! I've been checking out the photos we have saved, and there are a whole lot. So, I also saw a bunch of pictures of products that I haven't reviewed yet but has been with me for quite some time, like this Etude House palette.

This palette is from the "Rose" collection of Etude House and it was actually looked out for, for quite a while, because Etude rarely releases a palette that has a lot of colors. A regular palette in Etude has like 3-4 colors, tops. I think their Aloha line had a huge palette too but I can never remember seeing that one. Anyhow.

The Verdict:

Probably the best palette I've ever owned. Although the quality of the shadows vary a lot, (some are chalky and not that pigmented) the palette as a whole is a great buy. The colors are gorgeous. Staying power of the shadows also vary. The colors that can stay on the longest are Falling, Blossom, and Poison.

Since the palette also has neutral shades like browns and peaches, it can easily be used for your daytime eye makeup. I love it mostly because I have never had a palette that had a deep red color which looks totally awesome when used as an eyeliner.

The palette though is a little pricey at 1, 148 Php. The cutel-ly packed palette has two dual ended sponge applicators and a hugggggeee mirror.

This is probably my favorite palette as of the moment and I loooovee Pure because it can double as a shimmery eye highlighter.

Look What I Bought: Checking Out LOL

Hey guys! First of, lemme say I'm really sorry for being missing for the past weeks. We were at the peak season the entire month of August and we were able to finish, well, yesterday. Annnd my job needed me to either go home at around 10 pm or sleep over at the office. So basically, my August was spent doing either of the two. I'm just absolutely drained. I mean, I love my job but I miss my bed more. :p 

But now that thing in my job is over, I'm back. I still suffer from recurring headaches post-sleepless nights but I'm good.:D

I'm more behind on my entries a lot more than what I've imagined but I'll try to do as many entries as I can, probably starting tomorrow since I still have to go through all the pictures.  But for now, lemme just show you what I picked up a while ago from the brand LOL or Lots of Love.

I was actually headed to the counter already and the LOL stall was sort of in my way so I felt the need to go check out their products. :D They actually have a lot of stuff going on, like there were nail polishes, foundations, glosses, and eyeliners but what caught my attention was their glitter eye cream. I've been meaning to get myself a glitter eye cream. I saw one from Jordana but I wasn't able to come back for it. Plus, glitter eye creams can be pretty pricey. And this one I got just cost me 139.00 bucks. 

This one is called Starry Night. There was another set too that had pinks and blues so I figured I could use this more often since I wear more browns and golds than I do pinks and blues. :D I gave the tester a try and found the colors gorgeous.

I also got myself one of their pressed powders in Light. This one is also 139.00, which is not so bad given its size. And it leans on yellow. :D 

I found the LOL stall at the SM Department Store of SM Fairview. I'm not sure where else they are found but I'll be sure to let you know once I find out. :D

E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color In Drama

Hi guys. So, today, I'm going to tell you about the E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color in Drama which was a part of the E.L.F. Smokey Eye Look set that my sister got for me for my birthday.

I'm not usually a conventional smokey-eye wearer just because it takes time for me to blend back shadow well enough not to look like I got into a fight. =) I do use browns and coppers because they're a bit easier to handle. Anyways, for my birthday, I made an exception and actually tried to do a black smokey-eye look, and this quad made my life so much easier.

E.L.F. actually sells quads like this separately. They are 129.75 each if I'm not mistaken but with a little different design (the shadow pans are triangular). Each quad comes with a dual ended sponge-tip applicator (which is pretty run-of-the-mill but usable) and a tini-tiny mirror.

Pros:
1. Clear-covered packaging makes it easier to see the colors
2. The mirror is tiny but can actually help with application. Tried it once on my old quad and it's not too bad.
3. Shadows are actually very pigmented
4. Can definitely help you rock a smokey-eyes look

Cons:
1. Packaging is a bit flimsy. I dropped my old one and the cover broke off. I hope E.L.F. revamps the packaging of their old quads like the new ones.
2. The metallic ones (the two shades of gray) are powdery so application can be tricky. The loose-powder-under-eyes will do the work.
3. I personally think that the matte white shadow could have used a little shimmer. It comes off just like a tiny little pan of white pressed powder.

Nonetheless, I like this quad practically because it's a live saver. Plus, it'd be fun to collect all the quads from E.L.F., and this might just start my collection.

An Attempt on Nail Art #3: Eyeshadow Nails inspired by Jung Saem Mool

Hi guys. I have this weird habit of dropping everything when I learn a new nail art, so my mom knows when I do because I run upstairs to grab the nail kit.

Anyway, a few hours ago, I learned this nail art from one of my favorite Korean make-up artists, Jung Saem Mool. It's a nail art that requires nail polish, patience, and eye shadow.

Watch how it's supposed to be done here. Don't worry, it has English subtitles. (Actually , I just watched it on my laptop. It seems as this one doesn't have subs, really sorry) =) But my phone can't read the subtitles, so I had to rely on gut feel and what my sister taught me.

So here's what it looks like. It looks kind of a light gradated nail art. You can have the color more intense, depending on how much eye shadow you use.

What I used:

Shiny Powder Eyeshadow in Blue
Sassy Colorless Nail Polish
A dipping bowl
Sponge Wedge

You can use any powder-form eye shadow. It needs to be powder because you're going to dip the sponge with clear polish on. You can also use any sponge. I suggest cutting it into a small piece about an inch long so it'd be easier to handle.

In the video, a base coat and top coat were used, but since I have neither, I used clear polish for both purposes.

Here's how to do it, at least how I did it: =)
1. Make sure your nails are dry and clean and put a coat of clear polish or base polish. Let it dry.

2. Put some of your powder eye shadow on a plate or bowl. Grab your sponge and put a coat of clear polish. To save your clear polish from becoming too glittery like mine, put the nail polish on a piece of plastic and dip the sponge there.

3. Dip the sponge immediately to the eye shadow. Make sure you do this fast since the nail polish dries up easily.

4. Dab as you like on your nails. When I did my ombre nails, a dip on the polish allowed me to coat at least 3 nails. But here, one coat of polish and one dip on the shadow is enough for only one nail. I tried using it on more than one nail and it didn't quite stick

5. Jung Saem Mool tapped the shadow on the nail to make sure it sticks, but what I did is run my nails under water. This would allow you to see what your nail would actually look like without the excess shadow. When you put on the top coat right after dabbing the shadow, the shadow would just spread on your entire nail, losing the effect. This also cleans your nails.

6. If you already like the color pay-off of the eye shadow, you can put on the top coat. But if you want a more intense color, repeat steps 2 to 5 until you get the color you want.

Etude House Shine Up Stick in Rose Pink

Hi guys. I have no work today. =) That means more sleep for me. =) Anyway, I bought this Etude House Shine Up Stick mostly because it was on sale. Some of the branches of Etude House is having a sale until October 31 I think. So, if you are up for some shopping, swing by your nearest Etude House branch.

At first, I though this was a lipstick or balm of some sort. But, my sister said she thinks it isn't and the SA said it was for the eyes. There were only two left and they were both quite dirty and of the same shade. It was an old product, I guess. Their new one is called the Bling Bling Eye Stick which looks like this:

The SA was kind enough to show me the color of what I was about to buy because the items on sale had no testers. The new one retails for 198 Php. I bought mine for 89 Php and the shade is in Rose Pink.

Pros:
1. Creamy enough that I can use it for my lower waterline to brighten up the eyes
2. The shimmer is not too overwhelming
3. Easy to blend
4. Can be used as eye shadow base
5. It's more of white than pink which I like

Cons:
1. The packaging was a bit of an issue for me because it was a bit dirty. The new packaging is better though. If you look at the pictures, it looks like the packaging is off white but it's actually just white
2. Lasting power is so-so. 

Most of the white eyeliners I've encountered are not creamy enough to be used as an eye widener and this color stick is a savior for me. Plus, getting it on sale is an added point.

My mom likes it (she borrows it occasionally) and I like it, but I'm still looking for THE white eyeliner.

Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Trio in Belgian Chocolates

Hi guys! It's Friday again. Weeks are coming by so fast...anyway. Since my wallet is currently on life-support, as it always is every before payday, I've rummaged through my make-up box for an item that I haven't reviewed yet. And I found this,the Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Trio in Belgian Chocolates. Sounds yummy huh? Haha.


This was given to me by my aunt and uncle last Christmas. Unfortunately, as I've found out, this line has already been discontinued since about two years ago. But my aunt and uncle usually stay in the US, so I'm thinking maybe they've picked this out there.


So here it is!

So, Wet N' Wild actually has a new line called the Color Icon, which has the similar trio palettes with fancier names (yes, fancier than Belgian Chocolates) which cost 299 each


Pros:
1. The one for the eyelids and the crease are fairly pigmented (had to do two swipes to get the color above) and the one for the browbone is really pigmented. I mean really. =)
2. Comes with a mirror, and not just a small one, a real mirror.
3. Very blendable so it's easy to work with
4. Great neutral colors and good for a smoky brown eyes look too


Cons:
1. It's been discontinued. Period
2. It's kinda shimmery which may be a con for those matte-finish lovers
3. Applicator is too small. It would be taxing to use it to apply the shadow
4. I find it a bit too pricey if it was priced the same when it's still in the market. But what the hey. It's Wet N' Wild. =)


I actually love this trio palette. It's my emergency palette when I'm in a rush yet in dire need of eye make-up. Plus, see how I've already "hit the pan" on the crease e/s? It's been overly used as an eyebrow color. I love how it's not too dark for my eyebrows.

Shiny Powder in Yellow and Blue

Hi guys. The weekend is here again! My sister had the brilliant idea of taking pictures of some of my make-up items last week, so I wouldn't have any trouble or reason not to blog. Haha. Anyway, here's a review on the Shiny Powder in Blue and Yellow. These are actually from my aunt. She gave them to me last Christmas. I think they were bought by her sister who used to live in Japan. But, a few months back, I saw these babies on the stalls of Saizen in Trinoma, so if you want to buy them, they're easily available.

Price: Well, they were for free for me =) but they're 85 bucks a piece in Saizen

Weight: 3 g

Colors: From what I saw in Saizen, there's pink, purple and green

Swatches

Pros:

1. A lot of shimmer. Practically a shoo-in for glitter eyeshadow but with smaller glittery particles

2. Cute clear container that makes it adorable enough to show off

3. Works well as eye widener or brow definer

4. Cheap =)

5. Good color payoff when applied with a wet brush

Cons:

1. The first thing that bugged me was that I had trouble getting the product because of its stopper, and when I tried to sort of get the product out, it would come out as mini balls of eyeshadow. Messy

2. Not very long lasting

3. Might be too glittery for some people

All in all, I like this product, especially when you want just a good shimmer for you night make-up. But I suggest getting a brush that's small enough to fit in its hole, just so you wouldn't have a hard time, like me, getting the product out.

Shawill Mono Eyeshadow in No. 12

Hi. Either something's very wrong with my Internet connection or something's very wrong with this laptop. I've been trying to access my blog for about half an hour now. Finally! For the past two weeks, my body has been systematically shutting down at around 10 pm (still trying to adjust with my work schedule), but because I needed to keep this blog alive, here I am. =) Here's a review on a gold eyeshadow from Shawill. The Shawill Mono Eyeshadow in No. 12. I bought this last year from the Noel Bazaar in the World Trade Center.

Price: 69 Php

Weight: 4g

Colors: Tons. But, I was totally after a gold eyeshadow so....

The overly dusted swatch...sorry bout that

Pros:

1. Very pigmented

2. Cool gold color. Not too glittery

3. Very wearable on its own or when dusted over a darker eyeshadow color

4. Classy black container

5. Very cheap

Cons:

1. I find it very hard to blend. But then again, maybe it's just my skin.

2. Container looks classy but feels a little flimsy

3. Gold color may be a tad too "gold" for others

If your looking for a bright yellow gold color, this eyeshadow is perfect for you. But, if you're taste is more of a toned down light gold color, I suggest looking for another shade because when you blend this one from Shawill, it still has that bright gold color even when blended.
