All Dolled Up: Look#3 Brick Red

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted an All Dolled Up look. Weeeelll, after high school and college, my sister became my only guinea pig for my makeup experiments.. *haha*. She's fine with it anyway! ^^

Yesterday, we spent a bit of Labor's Day taking photos for her blog entry. And, she asked me to do her makeup. Here are two pictures taken and cropped from her files *haha.* With permission! As you know, my sister loves her lips red. She got that from Betty Autier, I guess. Here she is trying her new lippie.

Showing off her new COMPLETELY-NOT-YET-IRONED thrifted sheer top and her beloved mini-macaron necklace.

What I used on her:

Face:
Maybelline Aqua Gel Foundation in Natural Beige
Careline Concealer in Chesnut
Careline Oil Control Pressed Powder in Tan

Eyebrows:
Etude House Drawing Eyebrow in #3 (Brown)

Eyes:
E.L.F Duo in Olive (the dark green one as a lid wash)
E.L.F. Eyeshadow Quad in Drama (the black one for the outer V of eyes. The really really pigmented black eyeshadow)
San San Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Brown (Slightly winged and dragged to the lower outer third of eyes. Or Kpop eyeliner style *haha*)

Cheeks:
Wet N' Wild Bronzer in Goddess (used as "contouring blush." Does that make sense?)

Lips:
M&Co Long Lasting Matte Lipstick with Moisturizer in Brick Red

*She's also wearing a hair poof/poofer?/bouffant maker?, a Japanese hair styling tool I picked up at an Eastwood bazaar.

Check out my sister's blog entry here

Tell me what you think about this look! Cheerio!

All Dolled Up: Look #1 Red

Hi guys. I know I've never posted "look of the day" entries. One because I don't and can't take pictures of myself. I think I'm incapable of doing selcas. Another reason is my makeup rarely screams picture-worthy.

Anyways, I finally got permission from my sister to "borrow" her picture. I put makeup on her when she asks me to, and that's usually when she decides to flood her Instagram account or resuscitate her blog, and a few events here and there.

MEET MY KOREAN SISTER. NAH. =) KOREAN AT HEART

I mentioned on my previous entry here that she was the first one who got to really use my new palette. When she requested for red lips and winged liner to go with her floral-dress-denim-jacket-my-rubber-shoes combo, I was like "Ei?" I was scared she'd end up looking too made up. But, I remembered the look we did for the "Like A Virgin" girls for our Glee Musical in college. Same concept, but I toned it down a bit more. Here's a list of items I used on my sister. =)

For the Face:
1. Lovely ME:EX BB Cream (reviewed here)
2. 4u2 dreamGirl Lovelight BB Powder (reviewed here)
3. Careline Concealer in Oriental (my sister's)

For the Eyes and Brows:
1. For the brows, I used the dark brown color from my Wet N' Wild Belgian Chocolates Trio (reviewed here)
2. The eye makeup are all from my ADS palette (reviewed here)
* Cream color all over the lids
* Light taupe color for the crease
* White for the inner corners of the eyes and brow bone
* Black for the "soft-winged liner" and lower lashline
3. E.L.F Eyelid Primer (reviewed here)
4. Careline Color Pencil in Black for tight lining (reviewed here)

For the Cheeks:
1. My sister already has very prominent? cheek bones but I still did a little contouring with my Wet N' Wild Bronzer (reviewed here). No cheek color. =)

For the Lips:
1. For her Taylor Swift-red lips, I mixed my Maybelline Summer Sunset Lipstick (reviewed here), which has a deep ruby red color, with my sister's Avon Simply Pretty Lipstick in Celebrity Red, which is a more vibrant crimson red color.
2. I then asked her to put her Fashion 21 Grapes Clear Lip gloss only on the center of her lips. =)

Should I do more of this or nah? Lemme know! Cheerio!

Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Trio in Belgian Chocolates

Hi guys! It's Friday again. Weeks are coming by so fast...anyway. Since my wallet is currently on life-support, as it always is every before payday, I've rummaged through my make-up box for an item that I haven't reviewed yet. And I found this, the Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Trio in Belgian Chocolates. Sounds yummy huh? Haha.

This was given to me by my aunt and uncle last Christmas. Unfortunately, as I've found out, this line has already been discontinued since about two years ago. But my aunt and uncle usually stay in the US, so I'm thinking maybe they've picked this out there.

So here it is!

So, Wet N' Wild actually has a new line called the Color Icon, which has the similar trio palettes with fancier names (yes, fancier than Belgian Chocolates) which cost 299 each

Pros:
1. The one for the eyelids and the crease are fairly pigmented (had to do two swipes to get the color above) and the one for the browbone is really pigmented. I mean really. =)
2. Comes with a mirror, and not just a small one, a real mirror.
3. Very blendable so it's easy to work with
4. Great neutral colors and good for a smoky brown eyes look too

Cons:
1. It's been discontinued. Period
2. It's kinda shimmery which may be a con for those matte-finish lovers
3. Applicator is too small. It would be taxing to use it to apply the shadow
4. I find it a bit too pricey if it was priced the same when it's still in the market. But what the hey. It's Wet N' Wild. =)

I actually love this trio palette. It's my emergency palette when I'm in a rush yet in dire need of eye make-up. Plus, see how I've already "hit the pan" on the crease e/s? It's been overly used as an eyebrow color. I love how it's not too dark for my eyebrows.

Anyways, happy weekend guys! Cheerio!

Btw, I'm sampling another Korean....sample..haha. Wait for the review next week!

Wet N' Wild ColorIcon Bronzer in Goddess

Hi. Just so you know, I'm doing random reviews of random make-up items I found stashed in my bookshelf, so a few items are not-so-new while others are brand new. Now let's talk about bronzers... =)

My first bronzer encounter is with a Shiseido bronzer, which unfortunately, isn't mine. And since their products are way, way, way beyond my budget, I've been searching for a similar one, which isn't as pricey. But, since my E.L.F Bronzer is no longer photogenic =) I'll be reviewing Wet N' Wild's ColorIcon Bronzer in Goddess, which I got last Christmas, instead.

Price: 299 Php (But this one's from my sister)
Color: Goddess (Matte) the other one is Princess (I think), and has more shimmer
Applicator: Slim angled brush
Net Wt.: 4.0g

Swatch

Pros:
1. Well the first thing that caught my attention when I saw this was it's casing which is really classy. =)
2. Highly pigmented and the powder transfers well to its own brush as well as other brushes (I use Marionnaud's Angled Blush Brush)
3. Great for contouring. Since it has a matte finish, when blended really well it gives your cheekbones a natural-looking boost.
4. The brush is soft, not soft-soft, but the bristles are just soft enough to not poke your cheeks.

Cons:
1. It's a bit too powdery. When I use it, I have to be careful not to sweep the brush too hard to get the product or it makes a big mess. =)
2. The cover case has too many stickers! When I tried to remove it, it left some sticky material so I opted to put the stickers back on.

*I tested, but haven't purchased yet, the Princess Bronzer. It has some sort of shimmer so it may be a good highlighter.

So far, this is a promising bronzer but I'm keeping my eyes peeled... =) Cheerio!!
