Shiny Powder in Yellow and Blue

Hi guys. The weekend is here again! My sister had the brilliant idea of taking pictures of some of my make-up items last week, so I wouldn't have any trouble or reason not to blog. Haha. Anyway, here's a review on the Shiny Powder in Blue and Yellow. These are actually from my aunt. She gave them to me last Christmas. I think they were bought by her sister who used to live in Japan. But, a few months back, I saw these babies on the stalls of Saizen in Trinoma, so if you want to buy them, they're easily available.

Price: Well, they were for free for me =) but they're 85 bucks a piece in Saizen

Weight: 3 g

Colors: From what I saw in Saizen, there's pink, purple and green

Swatches

Pros:

1. A lot of shimmer. Practically a shoo-in for glitter eyeshadow but with smaller glittery particles

2. Cute clear container that makes it adorable enough to show off

3. Works well as eye widener or brow definer

4. Cheap =)

5. Good color payoff when applied with a wet brush

Cons:

1. The first thing that bugged me was that I had trouble getting the product because of its stopper, and when I tried to sort of get the product out, it would come out as mini balls of eyeshadow. Messy

2. Not very long lasting

3. Might be too glittery for some people

All in all, I like this product, especially when you want just a good shimmer for you night make-up. But I suggest getting a brush that's small enough to fit in its hole, just so you wouldn't have a hard time, like me, getting the product out.

The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX BB Cream

Hi guys. I've been using BB Creams for quite a while now and I figured maybe it's about time I did a review on the current BB cream I've been using. To be honest, my first BB cream was that from Avon, and then I started living on BB cream samples (Korean beauty shops are so generous with samples. That's why I love 'em). =) I couldn't just purchase a huge tube and you know, not like it. So after an endless battle with myself, I finally bought this. The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX BB Cream. I've been using this for a couple of months now and so far, I'm loving it.

Price: Original price is 395 Php but I got in on sale. It was priced at 350, and thanks to my mom and her 200 pesos worth of GCs. I only had to pay 150 =)

Weight: 40 ml

My left hand is "wearing" the BB cream

Pros:

1. Has a sheer finish so it doesn't give out that white cast

2. Creamy and sort of watery? so it's easy to blend

3. Smells like...flowers?

4. Cute packaging =)

5. Gives a dewy finish

6. Kinda cheap compared to other brands (it's already 40 ml)

Cons:

1. If you're looking for coverage, like medium to heavy, probably not the best BB cream to use. It has very light coverage.

2. It doesn't have much of an oil-control factor? I usually blot after 3-4 hours, even when inside an air-conditioned room

So far, it think it's a good beginner BB cream. It's actually very light but it still works. And I'm not sure if this BB cream is responsible but some of my dark spots well, turning light-ish. =) If you're still new to the whole BB cream concept, I suggest you use this BB cream.

Nichido True Colors Collection Blush in Passionate Red

Hi. Again. I'm doing a double-post. You know, just in case I decide to lie in bed for the rest of the weekend. To be honest, my eyes are dead-tired. For the past weeks, well 2 actually I've been literally staring on the computer monitor for about 11 hours, 5 days a week. Beat that. Haha. Anyhow, here's a review on Nichido's Powder Blush in Passionate Red. I saw this blush from a classmate of mine back in college. She brought it during a production and I was just intrigued by its just-pinched color. So yes. I totally had to be a complete copier and buy the same blush.

 Price: 88 Php

Weight: 4g

Colors: The only other one I've seen is Tomato (if I remember correctly) which is a darker color but they do have tons of other shades like a peachy-one

Swatches (The third one is when blended)

Pros:

1. A very pretty just-pinched color. It's not an overwhelming pink color which I like. It totally looks natural

2. Blendable

3. Transfers easily to brush (I use Landmark's kabuki brush for a sort-of airbrushed look)

4. Very affordable

Cons:

1. Flimsy case

2. Staying power isn't too long. About two hours I think? Longer if you brush it over a cream blush but that totally defeats its great color. 

That's pretty much it. I actually love this blush, so the cons are pretty much forgivable. I'm actually planning to try out the peach-colored one. When I start earning real money of course. Then I can buy all the blushes I want. And need. Cheerio! Have a good weekend!

Shawill Mono Eyeshadow in No. 12

Hi. Either something's very wrong with my Internet connection or something's very wrong with this laptop. I've been trying to access my blog for about half an hour now. Finally! For the past two weeks, my body has been systematically shutting down at around 10 pm (still trying to adjust with my work schedule), but because I needed to keep this blog alive, here I am. =) Here's a review on a gold eyeshadow from Shawill. The Shawill Mono Eyeshadow in No. 12. I bought this last year from the Noel Bazaar in the World Trade Center.

Price: 69 Php

Weight: 4g

Colors: Tons. But, I was totally after a gold eyeshadow so....

The overly dusted swatch...sorry bout that

Pros:

1. Very pigmented

2. Cool gold color. Not too glittery

3. Very wearable on its own or when dusted over a darker eyeshadow color

4. Classy black container

5. Very cheap

Cons:

1. I find it very hard to blend. But then again, maybe it's just my skin.

2. Container looks classy but feels a little flimsy

3. Gold color may be a tad too "gold" for others

If your looking for a bright yellow gold color, this eyeshadow is perfect for you. But, if you're taste is more of a toned down light gold color, I suggest looking for another shade because when you blend this one from Shawill, it still has that bright gold color even when blended.

Careline: Oil Control Blush-on in Fresh Tomato

Hi. Sorry if I haven't been posting any reviews for the past month. Job hunting. All of a sudden, I just decided that I'll squeeze in a bit of time to post something. I took these pictures right before I graduated and being the lazy me, the pictures are not-so-good. So, forgive me. Haha. So, here's my review of Careline's Oil Control Blush-on in Fresh Tomato.

Price: I can't remember exactly but around 60-80 Php

Colors: A lot but I chose this because I was at my red-color moment

Weight: 5g

Swatches: 2nd picture is when blended 

Pros:

1. Pretty cheap 

2. Lots of colors to choose from

3. Very, very pigmented. The first swatch picture is just one swipe. 

4. Nice red color when blended

5. Clear cover makes it easier to see the color

6. Blush transfers easily (to brush)

Cons:

1. Packaging is flimsy.

2. The sponge that came with the blusher is not-so-good. I would suggest using a blush brush instead

3. It claimed to be an oil-control blusher but it didn't work that way for me

4. Doesn't stay on for very long 

If you're going to buy and use this blusher, I just suggest that you be careful. I once made the mistake of over-swirling my brush with this blush-on. Let's just say I ended up washing my face all-over again. It's VERY RED, and a little amount goes a very long way. 

Overall, it's a great blush. I'm actually planning to buy a few more colors. Have you tried this blush-on? Lemme know. Cheerio!

Avon: Ultra Moisture Rich Lipstick in Sun Coral

Hi. Again. I've been trying to put up this post for ages! But the photo uploader just wouldn't work...finally..Since the academic year is almost coming to a close, I figured it was time to perpetually update this flickering blog. Well, I promise to try to keep this beauty blog alive. Anyway, here's the long overdue review of Avon's Ultra Moisture Lipstick in Sun Coral.

Price: Around 130-180 Php. I really can't remember the exact price. Sorry.

Net Wt. 3.5 g

Pros:

1. Very pigmented.

2. Glides on smoothly and is moisturizing

3. Classy black case. (Pretty containers are always a plus)

4. Very affordable

Cons:

1. To be honest, I was hoping (more of expecting) for a bit of a tamed-down version of this color. It's actually a strong brick orange color not really coral, ish. Never trust brochure pictures.

But other than that, it's a pretty good lipstick. Lasting power depends on how you spend your day. It normally stays on for about 2-3 hours, but if you are an occasional water-drinker and stuff, it cuts down the lasting power. Anyway, have a nice weekend. Cheerio!
