Look What I Bought #1

Hi guys. Just a quick post here to show you what I bought last week. It was my very first time to try online shopping, and I must say, maybe I should try not to get too excited 'cause I'll definitely end up spending way too much. Anyway, here's a quick view of the things I got

The Saem Ally's Ajell Mousse BB Cream (245 bucks plus 50 for the sf) and the Tony Moly Party Lover Gel Eyeliner (195 bucks) I got from Ms. Charmaine of Kkochipida (check her Multiply account here and her Facebook account here) I actually got to meet her because of the Tony Moly Gel liner. She just happened to be near our area (Trinoma), so it was a great opportunity. She's very lovely, and she's very nice. The transactions I made were a breeze. The mouse BB got delivered about two days after I made the payment. Plus, her products are very affordable and most products have prices that are way lower than what we have here. So, if you're into Korean cosmetics like me, check her site out. =)

Anyhow, the Ever Bilena Eyebrow pencil (50 pesos) and the fruit nail decorations (29.75) were from Landmark, but my mom paid for them. Funny what "pleading eyes" can do. =)

I decided not to take pictures of the pair of pants and belt that I got from For Me. They were both on super sale. The pants were priced at 998 but I got them for 298 and the belt was at 298 but I got it for 88. I just got lucky. =)

I promise to do reviews on these products as soon as I get the chance. What about you, any hauls? Cheerio!

Just Sampling: Tony Moly Expert Triple BB Cream

Hi guys. So, as promised, here's the verdict on the latest freebie sample I've tried. It's the Tony Moly Expert Triple BB Cream.

I got this when my sister bought her hair coloring cream a few months back. I always ask her for the freebies. =) Anyway, I did a three-day testing period on this (the small sachet can last you 5 days or a week, tops.) and here's what I think.

THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN FROM TONY MOLY'S WEBSITE
Here's the description of the product in Tony Moly's website:

Expert triple BB cream SPF45PA+++ Diffused reflection makes prism effects under any lights, completes spotless shiny skin Expert 3D Collagen BB cream SPF40PA+++ Boosting Collagen synthesis effect helps skin reconstruction. Filling between the wrinkle

 The Verdict:

What I like about it is that it gives coverage, probably light to medium. It's very blendable and no funky smell. Just that BB cream smell. A little goes a long way so despite its size, it can actually be used for at least a week. Plus, it has very high SPF. Recommended to those who like BB creams with a dewy finish. Oil control power is around 5-6 hours. I started to see some shine on my nose on the 6th hour.

The only thing that bothered me about it is that it felt kinda "heavy," like I know that I'm wearing something. but, it might just probably be because I'm used to almost-liquidy BB creams, and this one's a thick cream. And I think this has only one shade that is supposed to blend and suit all skin tones.

This is priced at 928 pesos for a 50 ml tube. Kinda pricey, but considering the perks, just think of it as a BB cream investment.

Btw, sorry for the quality of pictures. Our camera was stolen and most of my pictures for this blog were still loaded there, so I'm practically re-taking pictures of everything, including this sample. I just borrowed my dad's phone, which takes better pictures than mine.

Anyway, have a happy weekend everyone. Any of you checking out the K-pop convention in SM Megamall this Sunday? Cheerio!

Just Sampling: Etude House Silk Scarf Hair Treatment

Hi guys! Just a quick post here about a sample that I tried last weekend.

Every time my mom would see my hair, she'd ask me to put on some hot oil treatment. When you see my hair, you'd understand. It was bleached, tip-dyed green and blue, then colored brown. Did I mention I used to have red streaks too? Now you know that I obsess on hair color as much as I obsess on make-up. Anyway, I tried this freebie that I recently got from Etude House. It's their Etude House Silk Scarf Hair Treatment.

I asked my sister to roughly translate the "inscriptions" and I think she got something about "oil removal." I could only wonder what the rest says.

The Verdict:

I love the floral scent, but it can be a little overwhelming for others. It does make the hair soft and silky. My sister said my hair looked shiny, in a good way. Having curly hair, I usually put on some hair mousse but for the purposes of this trial, I went out without some and it didn't make my hair look all over the place. It kept the curls just a wee bit intact.

I can't really say anything negative about this. One because I've only used a sample size.

A whole bottle of this costs 378 bucks for 200 ml. I may try the whole bottle, but I'm still thinking about it since my mom bought an entire tub of hot oil treatment.

Have you tried this? Lemme know! Cheerio!

I Nailed It #1: Etude House Petite Darling Nails in PK013

Hi! Happy Sunday! I was supposed to put this up yesterday, but I forgot so here it is. This is the first time that I'll be doing a nail polish review, and I'm thinking of putting up a couple more soon or just whenever I buy a new polish.

I've had this for a couple of months now and it's my favorite default nail color. So here's Etude House Petite Darling Nails in PK013

The Verdict:
I love that it's a pale pink-coralish color so it looks very natural. The shimmer/glitter it has is not too overwhelming either. I did two layers here on my nails. It dries easily when you put it on, but the product in the bottle is still as good as I first bought it. The fancy packaging is a plus. =) Looks great on the display cabinet.

It's a bit pricey though for a polish. A bottle of this costs 48 bucks and some nail polishes from Etude are priced higher. But considering how the product hasn't dried out compared to my other polishes, I still love this. I'm actually planning to buy more of this in different colors. =) And, I'm planning to buy one of their matte colors, and maybe the neon ones....plus the magnetic-sort ones.. =))

This line, however, is almost always out of stock. It seems like these nail polishes are sold like pancakes. Whenever I come back, sometimes there's only one color left.

Can't tell you much about the "staying power" because I am almost-always the dish washer so my hand nail polish lasts for a week max. Longer when my sister does the dishes. =)

Anyways, have you guys tried this color before? Any interesting colors I should check out? Lemme know! Cheerio!

Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Trio in Belgian Chocolates

Hi guys! It's Friday again. Weeks are coming by so fast...anyway. Since my wallet is currently on life-support, as it always is every before payday, I've rummaged through my make-up box for an item that I haven't reviewed yet. And I found this, the Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Trio in Belgian Chocolates. Sounds yummy huh? Haha.

This was given to me by my aunt and uncle last Christmas. Unfortunately, as I've found out, this line has already been discontinued since about two years ago. But my aunt and uncle usually stay in the US, so I'm thinking maybe they've picked this out there.

So here it is!

So, Wet N' Wild actually has a new line called the Color Icon, which has the similar trio palettes with fancier names (yes, fancier than Belgian Chocolates) which cost 299 each

Pros:
1. The one for the eyelids and the crease are fairly pigmented (had to do two swipes to get the color above) and the one for the browbone is really pigmented. I mean really. =)
2. Comes with a mirror, and not just a small one, a real mirror.
3. Very blendable so it's easy to work with
4. Great neutral colors and good for a smoky brown eyes look too

Cons:
1. It's been discontinued. Period
2. It's kinda shimmery which may be a con for those matte-finish lovers
3. Applicator is too small. It would be taxing to use it to apply the shadow
4. I find it a bit too pricey if it was priced the same when it's still in the market. But what the hey. It's Wet N' Wild. =)

I actually love this trio palette. It's my emergency palette when I'm in a rush yet in dire need of eye make-up. Plus, see how I've already "hit the pan" on the crease e/s? It's been overly used as an eyebrow color. I love how it's not too dark for my eyebrows.

Anyways, happy weekend guys! Cheerio!

Btw, I'm sampling another Korean....sample..haha. Wait for the review next week!

E.L.F. Studio Lip Stain in Red Carpet

Hi guys! Just a quick review here on one of my many E.L.F. products. Again. My sister gave me this. I can't remember though if it was for Christmas or my birthday. Anyway, here's the E.L.F. Studio Lip Stain in Red Carpet

When I asked my sister for this, they only had two colors, the other one was a bit of a pale pink (can't remember the name), so I went for this red one.

As most of E.L.F.'s Studio line products are, this is 249.75
(This comes in a box, which I now cannot find)

Pros:
1. Creamy and pigmented.
2. Buildable? color. You can go for a soft-is red color with one swipe (like the pic above) or you could go "red carpet" red with 2-3 swipes
3. Stays on long enough, like a stain (but without eating and drinking)
4. Workable clear gloss is a plus
5. Matte finish and doesn't "magnify" lip lines

Cons:
1. To be honest, I don't know what's wrong with me but I almost always end up with a defective product. This one's gloss section cannot be closed well, so I always, always must remember to put it stain side-up, which I always forget.
2. Flimsy container. Although this one is from the Studio line, the container feels like it's going to break easily.
3. I know I said it stays long enough, like an ordinary lip stain, but it can't survive a complete meal. When I used this, right after dinner, zilch. Other lip stains have much longer staying power even after meals.

This actually reminds me of Nyx's Matte Lip Creams, which I have yet to try. I want this in other colors, but I'm still contemplating on it. I can "smell" the weekend coming near..haha. =) Cheerio!

An Attempt on Nail Art #2

Hi guys! Just came from North Edsa to grab my facial wash from Healthy Options, and let me just tell you that saying that the mall was a little overcrowded is an understatement. It was totally packed! But I resisted temptation of make-up hauling, and only bought my wash. It was the only thing I needed anyway.

So, I was checking out some new nail art ideas yesterday, and I suddenly remembered reading something about water marbling from Ms. Nikki of askmewhats (click here) a few months back.

So, I decided to try it. Just a fair warning though, I call this "an attempt" and not "nails of the day" for a reason. =) haha.

Sorry if my nails look very messy haha..=) They were shot right after swimming in the water with polish. Some came out well, some didn't, but I'll definitely try this again. And the ombre nails my sister had last time.

With a better choice of colors, luck, and imagination, maybe I'll achieve that marble-y look. But I like the graffiti-ish look of my nails. Messy but almost-there.

Anyway, have you guys tried this before? Any tips? Hope you had a great weekend. Cheerio!

E.L.F. Clarifying Pressed Powder in Apricot Beige

Hi guys. It's a very rainy Saturday, at least around our place. This post is long overdue. I just kept on forgetting to take the pictures, and I've been trying to catch the reruns of Monk's last season, which I absolutely love. Well, everyone in my family does even my dad...and my mom. Anyway, I got this, around last month I think, after I emptied out my Avon pressed powder.

So here's a review on E.L.F.'s Clarifying Pressed Powder in Apricot Beige.
Here's a description of the powder according to www.eyeslipsface.com

"Create a flawless finish with our silky Clarifying Press Powder that blends evenly into skin. Treat and prevent skin imperfections with key active ingredients formulated for problematic skin. Proven skin clarifiers absorb oil on contact to create a beautiful matte finish. Wear alone or with your other favorite e.l.f. face products for naturally smooth and flawless looking skin."

Price: 129.75
Unfortunately, the name has already disappeared
*The only thing you would see underneath is the name of the shade

Sorry, it's still dirty. I did try to wash it. This was it

Pros:
1. Lightweight, so it's easy to just slip it in your pocket and doesn't take too much space in your kit either.
2. Easy to work with either with a sponge or a fluffy brush and it blends to the skin well too
3. Sponge is workable and doesn't fall apart even after washing

Cons:
1. Doesn't come with a mirror and packaging kinda feels flimsy
2. I feel like the packaging itself is not really made to have a sponge put inside it. (see pic above). It kinda feels forced putting the sponge in, that sometimes, it wouldn't stay shut because the sponge is sticking out
3. Sheer finish. I was kinda hoping that it would give some coverage, but it didn't on me.
4. No oil control witnessed here. =)

To be honest, I stopped using this powder because I got kinda disappointed. I was hoping for some oil control and coverage, and it gave me neither. Plus, the packaging and all was a bit of an issue for me. But, I'm still a fan of E.L.F. This is probably just one of those products.

Any suggestions for a better pressed powder? I'm using my mom's Loreal True Match Two-Way something...=) but I'm open for other powders. Haha. Have a great day! And bring an umbrella. Cheerio!

E.L.F. Studio Blush Brush

Hi! Happy Friday! I just find Fridays happy because they mark the beginning of the weekend, so I feel like I can just slack off. =)

Anyway, I got this brush yesterday at SM Novaliches, which is also having a sale this weekend. My mom and I dropped by there before going to my grandparents' house. Anyway, I've been looking for this brush since I've seen a similar one being used by Korean make-up artist, Jung Saem Mool (check out her YouTube site here) She has the lightest brush strokes I've ever seen. But, if I'm not mistaken, hers is a Piccasso brush, and I don't believe we have those here. I found out about her because of Erika of erikajjang.

So, here's my quick review on the E.L.F. Studio Blush Brush

Pros:
1. Soft bristles, even before washing
2. Did not shed after washing
3. Classy design
4. Picks up product well
5. Fluffy =) (or has enough bristles)
6. Comes with a so-called brush guard or rather, dust semi-guard

Cons:
1. Has a faint smell of plastic, even after I washed it, still smelled a little like plastic with a little hint of strawberry (from my cleanser). I hope that the smell would be long gone after a few more washes
2. Bled a little

I'm actually ecstatic that I found this one from E.L.F. I've seen much more expensive ones that I couldn't just force myself to buy. And, I love that the brushes from their studio line are way better than the ones from their regular brushes, some of which are scratchy. I used it today, and I just like it. I hope that it would continue to please me just like my other brushes from Marionnaud.

Happy weekend guys! Cheerio!
